Nerve Calls A Girl Walks into a Bar by Helena S Paige an “Erotic Book You Absolutely Have to Read”

A Girl Walks into a BarA Girl Walks Into a WeddingA Girl Walks into a Blind Date

A Girl Walks into a Bar was recently featured on Nerve’s list of “The 15 Erotic Books You Absolutely Have to Read”.

The “choose-your-own-erotic-destiny” novels are written by Sarah Lotz, Helen Moffett and Paige Nick, under the pseudonym Helena S Paige.

In the article, Leigh Lumford refers to a recent poll conducted by Alessandra Torre, a popular erotica author. Torre questioned 800 readers, and found that 95 percent of her respondents said that reading erotica made them feel “sexually empowered”.

The choose-your-own-adventure A Girl Walks into a Bar, and the second and third books in the series A Girl Walks Into a Wedding and A Girl Walks into a Blind Date, exemplify the model of sexual empowerment:

Styled after the Which Way books, readers get to determine how the story plays out. Within its choices are limitations and the authors’ perceived opinions but there aren’t many books of its type. The Paris Book Review wasn’t a fan for deeper reasons that this author can sympathize with. However, the PBR found it worth reviewing, which is something, and no one should have to answer for the style of erotic literature they consume.
