Riaan Manser Inspires Stellenbosch University Students to Greater Heights

Riaan Manser, author of Around Iceland on Inspiration, gave a motivational speech to first-year students at Stellenbosch University.

Manser’s visit was part of a team building exercise for first year students to learn about the University’s Hope Project, which aims to create “sustainable solutions to some of South Africa’s and Africa’s most pressing challenges.”

Manser told the students that “You need to have courage if you want to achieve something in life and remember that things that are worthwhile take time.”

“Your attitude will decide whether you succeed or fail.”

With these words Mr Riaan Manser, renowned adventurer and television personality, tried to inspire a large group of Stellenbosch University (SU) first-year students to new heights on Friday (25 January 2013). He talked to these students, all part of the University’s Validus cluster, about what it takes to be successful in different areas
