Deon Meyer has shared a video interview on his site as well as an atmospheric video and photographs that show places relevant to the book, including the inspiration for Detective Benny Griessel’s apartment and Inspector Mbali Kaleni’s favourite take-away store:

In the interview Meyer discusses Benny’s character history, which was initially just a walk-on role in Dead Before Dying before Meyer wrote him his own series starting with Devil’s Peak. Meyer also talks about where the idea for the latest in the series, 7 Days, came from.
